For salads like the Antipasto (in Salad Joy) I use several jars of ingredients.
I find that having a well-stocked pantry of jars and cans of veggies make it possible to throw together a really delicious salad or other entrée on short notice.
Here's what I usually have in my pantry. Cans of:
Hearts of Palm
As you know, I make most of my salad dressings from vinegar and oil, so be sure to have a variety of both on hand:
Red Wine Vinegar
White Wine Vinegar
Extra Virgin Olive
Flavored Olive Oils –like lemon, lime, smoked, pepper
In addition to pantry staples, it’s good to have a few staples on hand in your freezer like:
Sweet Potato Fries (great last minute side!)
With a well-stocked pantry and freezer you’re prepared for creating delicious salads and other main course meals – even when company comes at the last minute – effortlessly!
