I Got All My Sisters With Me

I have been a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood (stands for Philanthropic Educational Organization) for almost six years now and it is a joy.

An international nonprofit organization, P.E.O. raises money to educate women through scholarships, grants, awards and loans.  Check out the California State Chapter at

I have served as Recording Secretary for two years, and President for two years of my local Chapter in Simi Valley.

I have now been asked to join a Statewide Committee, which I will Chair in another two years.  It’s called the Scholarship Selection Committee.  We are responsible for awarding more than $70,000 to deserving women throughout the state of California.

At the California State Convention recently I jumped right in, working our exhibit booth.  There are more than 525 Chapters of P.E.O. in California and more than 1,000 attendees at the state Convention each year.

GELSON'S....Julia's favorite store and the inspiration for her SALAD JOY recipes!

"Since fresh greens, other produce, and proteins are the main ingredients in my salads, it’s critical that everything is the freshest and highest quality.  Every ingredient in every recipe in Salad Joy was purchased at my one and only grocery store: Gelson’s (

I have been a loyal Gelson’s customer at their Tarzana store for 18 years now and have always been more than satisfied by their quality and service.

In fact, at the Tarzana Gelson's right near my home, most of the staff knows me by name, and it's a true JOY to shop where I feel so at home."
